Avril Lavigne has sparked romance rumours after being spotted with a country music star following her latest split.

Lavigne, 39, was seen out with Nate Smith, 38, enjoying a laid-back evening in West Hollywood, and the pair appeared to be thoroughly enjoying each other’s company.

The music stars were seen sipping drinks in the back of their truck and skateboarding through the city.

Smith rose to fame in 2020 after one of his sons went viral on TikTok, leading to him being signed to a major label and releasing his debut album the following year.

Lavigne has been single for three months after splitting with rapper Tyga following an on and off romance.

Tyga and Lavigne first went public with their romance in March 2023, splitting the first time in June 2023 before rekindling their romance one month later for a brief period before eventually splitting in October.

Lavigne has had a tumultuous relationship history in recent years.

She began dating singer Mod Sun in 2021, and the pair even getting engaged the same year. Lavigne gushed about the singer during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show the following year, but in early 2023 it emerged that the pair had split.

At the time, Mod Sun said Avril’s decision to call it quits had left him “blindsided”.

The singer has been married twice before; to Sum 41 singer Derek Whibley and Nickleback lead singer Chad Kroeger.

Lavigne remains close with both of her ex-husbands, and has been seen dining with them numerous times since parting ways.

Meanwhile, country star Smith previously dated TV personality Savannah Chrisley, 26, but the pair broke up some time around May 2023.

Earlier this month, Lavigne announced dates for her first-ever greatest hits tour, set for 27 dates across North America with opening acts All Time Low, Simple Plan, Girlfriends and Royal & the Serpent appearing throughout the run. “Tour dates for 2024 baby! I’ll be doing the Greatest Hits from all of my albums and along with some of your favorites, perhaps some special requests?” wrote the Canadian superstar, alongside the announcement on social media. “And of course all of my friends are joining me!!!”
