Police have declared a “crime scene” after reports that a body was found wrapped in plastic on a Queensland beach.
Officers were called to the scene at Mackay Harbour about 1:15pm on Saturday, closing access around a white Toyota LandCruiser on East Point Drive.
According to Queensland Police, there are few details currently available.
The discovery was made by two men who approached the vehicle believing it had been reported as stolen on local social media, the Courier Mail reported.
“We possibly, very high potential, saw a body in a bag,” he said.
Mackay Harbour is a coastal village in the Mackay region of Queensland.
More to come.
